Geneva-based corporate and securities partner Karen Monroe, was invited again to participate in the invitation-only Second Bilateral Meeting of Swiss and U.S. Women Leaders organized by the U.S. Embassy in Berne on March 7, 2012.
For the second year in a row, US Embassy Bern hosted “Sister Republics: Building Bridges—An Action Plan for Women’s Leadership” taking the traditional Swiss/American Sister Republics relationship into the 21st century. The nations are called Sister Republics because the Founding Fathers helped each other form vibrant young democracies.
The bilateral conference is for women from the White House to the Swiss Federal Council, from the Swiss economic ministry to the U.S. Department of Commerce, for leaders of NGO’s and CEO’s from both countries. The purpose: to collaborate on removing stubborn obstacles to women’s leadership.
